I think you may want to provide more info.
- Is this a Linksys router or a network card?
- Is it wireless?

I am going to assume you have a wireless router and want to use the network throughout the house.

Go into the Linksys router (using Internet Explorer and the address 192.168.1.1 - You will need your password or the default password to log in) and look for the Wireless settings. There is one called WEP (Wireless Encryption Protocol) in the "Security Mode" settings.

If you have WEP in use, then you want to go in and set it to Disabled to take security OFF the Linksys.

If you are taking security OFF, then you probably will want to set the option for SSID Broadcast to "Disabled". Otherwise, your neighbors and anyone nearby with a laptop will see your network as a Internet hot spot on their PCs if they "Search for Access Points" and will then have free Internet access thanks to you.

By the way, Linksys has a really good website that will walk you through what you want to do. Just check out their Support services.

To reset everything to factory default settings, you have to press the reset button behind the unit. Take note that you must press for 30 secs before letting go for factory default to take effect.
