TOEFL means Test Of English as Foreign Language. Students from those countries whose mother tongue is not English has to appear in TOEFL while going for studies in the United States of America.

if English is not your native language you have to take the TOEFL test in order to get into college or university. If you are planning to take it and live outside the US try to get a book (preferably with a CD) to prepare yourself for this test. If you live in the US then check schools which offer ESL (English as a Second Language), they may have TOEFL courses.
