Christopher Pike
Pike was in the pilot episode, preceding Kirk.
Originally, Rodenberry named the first captain Robert April, but later changed the name to Pike.
Apparently, Robert April did appear as the first captain of the USS Enterprise in the animated series.

Captain James T. Kirk, if you're talking by the series. Chronologically, though, the first captain was Archer, I think, played by Sam Beckett, what ever the guy's real name is. Scott Bakula, that's it.
I stand by my statements.

Voyager is unquestionably my regular deliver, the Prometheus type is exceedingly cool too yet as that grew to become into by no skill a storyline deliver i think it would not count quantity. regular captains are in all probability Picard, then Janeway or Sisko.
