up, you need room in your foot. but not too big, its should be comfortable like a regular ballet shoe but a little loose so there is no strain when you go up

if this is your first pair of pointe shoes than you just have to go and try all different sizes, styles, and brands. pointe shoes are sized weird and are not compared to your street shoe size.

but if you have already started pointe and just need a new shoe you either go up OR keep it the same. if your shoe has worn down too much but the shoe still fits ok just get the same size. but if your shoe has become too snug on your foot than you can either go up a half-size, a whole size, or try another brand. if you do try another brand the size might not be the same.

hope this helps you out. =)

It depends on the brand. Some brands have you go up, while some have you go down. Try on different brands and styles until you find on that fits comfortably. Here's how to tell if it fits right.

1) Check the width of the box. If there is room, then it's too big, but if it hurts going onto pointe, then it's too small

2) Sitting down, arch your foot, and pinch the back. If there's a lot of room (a little's fine), then the shoe's too big.

3) Try wiggling your toes. If you can, the box is too big

I hope these things help.

They should be about the same size as your regular shoes but there are a lot of different widths and vamps so try a few out as they should nt gape at the sides.

it all depends on the brand of shoe. just go somewhere reliable like a dance supply store that knows how to fit them
