hold the center "select" button and the "Menu" button, and maybe toggle the "hold" switch (i have to on my iPod Mini) for 6-10 seconds. or just see if simply the "hold" switch is in the "on" position (orange bar to the left of the switch). if nothing happens, call iPod support, they might require you to send it in and get a new one

Maybe u tried this already but press the center button and the menu button at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds.
If nothing happens then i sujest u communicate with Apple.

Try holding the menu button and the center select button at the same time for ten seconds if it does not restart try the play/pause and center button. Otherwise you have a shot iPod sadly... hopefully you have warranty?!?
