I'm 36 wks, 2 dys pregnant, dialated to 1 cm and my son has dropped. I understand that I could stay this way for a couple weeks, or a matter of hours (when he's ready, he's ready), but I'm just curious as to how long on average do women stay dialated to 1 cm during their first pregnancies. Any input would be helpful! Thanks ladies! (And Gents, if applicable.)

Also, this doesn't mean I'm in labor, does it?

Also, how quickly on average (in your opinion), do you dialate to say a 3, then a 5, then a 9? The higher your centimeter dialation, the faster labor is coming, right? Of course, it varies with everyone.

When I was PG with my first (she's 2 now), I walked around 2cm for two weeks. I was 1cm for a week and then went to 2.

My friend JUST had a baby and she was dialated to two for several weeks before she actually had the baby. I however, was hardly dialated at all at the checkup the week before the due date. When I got to the hospital after my water broke then they told me I was at a one. My baby was just as stubborn then as he is now!

in case you sense greater tension than usual you're able to be able to/is probably no longer in hard artwork. even nonetheless being a million cm dilated at 34 weeks could properly be very usual. some women human beings stay between a million-3cm for the final few weeks of being pregnant with out hard artwork and nonetheless furnish complete term. Your cervix isn't soft and you at the instant are not feeling contractions, so which you're able to be advantageous. in case you nonetheless sense larger tension/hard artwork pains then of path flow to the docs
