I want to upgrade my processor, so I will also have to upgrade my mother board. My current processor is about 4 years old. Does anyone have some suggestions? If you can, please include the general cost for the equipment.

http://www.newegg.com Great place to research/buy computer hardware. You might even have to buy a new case, and power supply all depending on what you have. Specs would be great to find a general cost. Also AMD or Intel?

basically pass come to a determination what sort of processor you like, then get a advice from a working laptop or workstation save for the motherboard, and purchase them on a similar save. you're able to use your previous HDD, and VGA card, no count what sort of motherboard you go with for. don't know with regard to the RAM, however.

If you live on the east coast of America I would recommend you go to MicroCenter. They have a huge selection of OEM computer parts, and their staff are help full. It's worth the drive.
