Kimchee tastes better on it's own. They're different uses. Wasabi is just a paste, like mustard. I prefer Kimchee, but then again i'm biased.

Wasabi is definitely hotter. Kimchee is hot, but due to the type of chilli peppers and the amount that the Koreans normally use, it does not come close to Wasabi's hotness. Hotness is measured by the Scofield (or incorrectly, Scoville) Heat Unit. If Habenero peppers were used in Kimchee, it definitely would be the winner in terms of hotness! But Habeneros are not in the ingredients for Kimchee. Wasabi is made from grated horseradish which contains mustard oil (allyl isothiocyanate), which is much hotter than the oleorecin capsicum in Kimchee.

The green stuff thats the wasabi right. I tried some of that in Target and it burned 4 of my taste buds off when i licked it off my finger. Kimchee is hot going down but that wasabi is hot on contact. As soon as it hits your mouth its hot.
