sparkplugs have 30,000 miles. Car hesitates, (like misfire) at certain rpm in drive. Avg. miles per gallon dropped also.

your car is OBDII the check engine light should come on if a missfire deteced. this might help in diagnoses if the light is on.

Quick way to check the wires - use a portable am radio. If you hear static when the car is running the wires need to be replaced (this, however, is not fool-proof). Best bets, change plugs and wires (plugs need it anyway), replace PCV valve, change air filter if it has more than 25,000 miles on it. Test for vacuum leaks - you could have a cracked vacuum hose that could cause that symptom as well.

My friend had the same problem with his 2002 Chevy Camaro V6 automatic too. He took it to a dealership and said that they replaced some sort of chip. I don't exactly remember which chip it was though.

try plugs and wires first - if you had it detailed recently you might have got water on them
