Just like men, women are driven to procreate. In order to attract the opposite sex more readily the application of lipstick, especially in red colors that simulate the 'blush' of arousal is used. In certain nomadic societies, only females that had started to menstruate were allowed to use lip color. In some cultures lip stains are only used during fertility rites. As we progressed as a society it has become so common place that the reason this been forgotten. However, the practice can be trace as far back as the Egyptian empire, when the use of pomegranate juice was used as a lip stain by the ladies of the court.

Well, my jewelry is limited to earings and my wedding ring, so I'm not going over the top there. I don't wear lipstick and the extent of my makeup is eyeshaddow and mascara. I think too much makeup makes some women look like clowns.

Honestly?
It's primal. When a female is "ready" blood rushes to many areas including the lips - making them deeper in color. Lipstick fakes this physical reaction and makes the female more attractive to the males.

I don't wear jewlery at all. But I wear eye make up more than i would ever wear any lipstick. It makes me feel more attractive.
