I don't simply mean thin people, I mean literally skin and bones walking around. And I don't mean fat, I mean *huge*. I'm doing research on society and what people can tollerate in society as being normal. Thank you!

I think anorexics are more revolting. Morbidly obese people just like to eat--food is a necessity but they've gone way overboard. Anorexics, however, are mentally unstable (thinking they're fat, they shouldn't eat, etc.) and that is what I find revolting. What could possibly make you look in the mirror, see that you're 5'4", weigh 75 pounds, and you believe yourself to be overweight so you eat nothing? Something wrong there. Morbidly obese people know they're fat--at least they'll admit it.

I think each individual needs to be treated by a physician with that type of problem or illness. I have seen people in this condition and once I see it, I look away and just continue to do what I'm doing. I have sympathy for the Anorexia. To me I think it's a mental illness and that's where it starts in the mind. The obesity I feel is just from greediness. People see food and they eat! They're not hungry, they're just greedy. They know that being overweight is unhealthy but they still refuse to put the fork down. So I don't feel for those people at all and it's really hard for me to accept that just because you see food, you're already full, but you feel you need to eat again. You would think that these people would be eating and sh!tting at the same time. Forgive me, but I eat one meal a day and maybe that's not healthy either! But I do eat. I just don't eat when I'm not hungry. That to me is just being greedy.

anorexics! It is disturbing to me that someone could think they are fat, when they can't even fit in a size 0 w/o it falling off.All of these celebrities are really causing a bad image upon women. The morbidly obese usually have more of a medical ( thyroid) issue going on, not so much a mental issue

the two are undesirable. once you're too fat, it somewhat is not uncomplicated to exercising and not consume as lots, then once you're too skinny it somewhat is not uncomplicated to even place foodstuff on your mouth no longer to point consume with out throwing it up. If I had to choose on one i could bypass with anorexic by using fact with some hospitalization you will get to a healthful weight much less puzzling than somebody who's morbidly obese, and you will additionally get much less people telling you techniques gross you're, by using fact it style of feels anorexia is ninety% of all teenager females' existence objectives.

I find judgmental people more revolting. Society tends to worship thinness even to the point of starvation. So, it is mostly the folks at the other end of the spectrum that take the most abuse.

Anorexics tend to have more mental problems leading to their illnesses and they need serious treatment.

Either extreme is totally unhealthy, but I think being overly overweight will cause a slower death than when one starves him/herself to death.

I think anorexics might be tolerated better because they don't get in the way as much. Their size doesn't disrupt other people's activities. They don't sue airlines like some overweight people do when they have to pay for 2 seat tickets because of their size. (While the overweight person may think it's unfair to pay for a second seat, they do not consider the person who is seated next to the overweight person, who paid the same price for a seat, and has to unwillingly "share" seats because the overweight person cannot fit into her/his own seat!)

REVOLTING? These are real people with real problems. Would you find a starving child revolting? Would you find a woman with an enlarged goiter revolting? Watch the words, they matter. Compassion is in short supply in this world, we are all in need of it. Using the right words can be the beginning of compassion. Which do you find in greater need? Those who are obese or those who are anorexic? The answer then becomes clear.

I think people generally accept anorexis as being ill, so there is more compassion shown. Sadly, many don't realize there are illnesses that cause obesity, as well, and tehrefore the morbidly obese is considered a slob, lazy, etc and are judged harshly.

Anorexics are more disgusting to me. My ex-husband's current wife is one and her body is just horrible. Her legs are no bigger around then a large broom stick. She has absolutely no butt or boobs. Her collar bones sticks out and her clothes look as if they just hang from it. She literally walks like a skeleton. I mean it. Have you ever watched a horror flick, educations video, etc. where a skeleton is walking. Thats how she does. Its not right.
