Pretty sure that, like most modern vehicles, it's part of the alternator.

You will find that it is built into the alternator. A trick I found to find out if the alternator is working, with engine running hold a screwdriver over the middle of the alternator , if the screwdriver is drawn to it like a magnet is pulling it , the alternator is working.
