That question really makes no sense. Do you mean "Why is confidence mistaken for arrogance by others?" If that's what you meant, perhaps "others" aren't mistaken but feel snubbed. Confidence is light and inoffensive. An arrogant attitude has a negative effect on "others".

its not always like that. confidence is confidence. arrogance is arrogance. confidence is when you love, respect, and accept yourself the way you are that you dont compare yourself to others. but arrogance comes from ego, which many women are confused by this. they think by being arrogant, they can gain confidence. but little did they know, that this was only a false confidence to cover up how they really feel about themselves so that is why they have to make others feel bad too.

There's a fine line between being confident and being arrogant. Sometimes the ones who think that they're confident really are arrogant and vice versa.

There is a difference between confidence and arrogance. You might think you're confident but actually be arrogant. The thing is, you can't accept your weaknesses if you're arrogant, so you might see it as being confident instead.

I think it's the way confidence is portrayed. A really confident person would not have to prove that they are. And the average person could tell the difference between both, especially in the workplace. So if people in the workplace think you are arrogant, chances are you are.

there's a fairly fine line between being confident and arrogant. some people just have a hard time deciding which is which. (actually a lot of people) confidence is believing in yourself and your abilities, while arrogance is more like flaunting confidence and over-bearing pride.

Maybe some people are jealous of another person's confidence, or jealous of something about that person, and so to them their confidence looks like arrogance

Seems like it is ain't it. What actually is happening is that it is people who have their nose up in the air failing to see that confident seems hard to attained and that they do not not have confident in anything. Seems idiotic to me, but to these people when they see people who are highly confident they automatically assumed arrogant because that's the only thing they realized.

Confident:
1. having strong belief or full assurance; sure: confident of fulfillment.
2. sure of oneself; having no uncertainty about one's own abilities, correctness, successfulness, etc.; self-confident; bold: a confident speaker.
Arrogant:
1. making claims or pretensions to superior importance or rights; overbearingly assuming; insolently proud: an arrogant public official.
2. characterized by or proceeding from arrogance: arrogant claims.
As you can see they have 2 very different defnitions and characteristics. Confidence is knowing your flaws and accepting them as part of who you are. Arrogant is not admitting to flaws, and acting "holier than thou."

I think that many insecure people will confuse the two things. Honest differences are always going to happen and if you andsomeone else disagree, you should respect the fact that they feel as confident in their view as you do in yours. But you should never punish them for it. RIGHT KITTEN?
