Epiphone is made by Gibson. It's the lower line stuff. You probably knew that. It doesn't sound as good or play as well as the Gibson. But for the money it's a damn fine axe. I say buy one. You also might want to check out the Epiphone SG. Another good guitar at a good price.

Epiphone doesn't make Les Paul. Gibson makes the Les Paul.
Saying Epiphone makes the Les Paul is like saying Ford makes a Blazor. Although a Bronco and a Blazer look idenitical they are not the same.

thinkabout is wrong. gibson owns epiphone. epiphone makes cheaper, affordable les paul guitars since they are made over seas. also, your question makes no sense. dont buy a special 2, spend the extra money and buy a better guitar.
