Either have a birthday party on New Year's Eve, when everyone wants to party, or do it later in January.
So what if everyone is tired on your actual birthday? You would be too if you had partied all night. I suggest just spending the day with yourself... You know, at home spa, movies, chocolate, etc.

We have a New Year's Day party each year. You could have your party a bit early - maybe this Friday or Saturday. People are in party mode until the first, really - and it can be hard to wait the whole weekend for the big day. I think an early celebration could be a lot of fun.
Peace!

Celebrate a week or two later. Does it really matter whether or not you celebrate on your actual birthday?
Have your birthday party at the end of January when everyone is bored stiff. It will be something that everyone looks forward to.

Have a New Year's Eve party countdown to your birthday... or even better, have a brunch w/ mimosas and bloody maries as a hair of the dog for your partied-out friends
