I am a supporter of Islam and Muslims(You know, the type who says Not all Muslims are terrorists) I STILL believe that.Yet, even I find this one a bit weird. Yesterday, I came across an article in the newspaper which said that if muslims get divorced and want to get married to each other again, then, the wife must marry another man, consumate that marriage and divorce him. Doesn't this seem to be too much of a hassle? Also, why should you have to marry someone ELSE in order to get married to someone just because you happened to divorce them?

Ok, Let me expand on this. The guy was drunk and said "talaaq" thrice to his wife. The clerics then declared them divorced.Ohh, aren't muslims NOT supposed to drink? He regretted it when he was sober and wanted to get back to his wife. The clerics refused. The article then also explained about the consumation with another man.

that is not true, am Muslim, they can get married , but if they got married and divorced three times, then she should take a break, there is a period of time that she should wait, then she can get married to another man, but if she got married to another man so she can go to her husband, that is not right, and is considered a sin, the period of time, before she gets married to another man, is to make sure she is not pregnant and to make sure if she got pregnant to know for whom that baby belongs; but this is in our religion just for the couple to really think before getting divorced for the third time,

Muslims believes that Marriage as sacred . Muslims married couple are not encouraged at all to divorce UNLESS there are no other alternatives. It is also understood that as humans there are bound to have difference of opinion that may lead to continued misunderstanding and unhealthy clashes. And therefore as solution to such problems, couple may decide to opt for divorce, Because there are very strong contractual binding, people are not suppose to break the these contractual obligations, hence in general terms only 2 divorces is allowed to remarry and third becomes the last chance for remarrying. The objective is to discourages married couples to exercise caution in handling conflicts that will lead to divorces. Generally, most of divorces within Muslims stops at the second divorce.

In Islam, the husband can divorce the wife which is called "talaq"...but only three times..when a couple divorced for the first and the second times, they still can reconciled which is called "rujuk"..but when the husband divorced his wife for the third time, the wife must marry other man and if their marriage ends with a divorced, then the wife can get back together with her previous husband..this triple talaq rule is to prevent the husband misused their authority to divorce his wife. beside that, there are certain condition when the talaq can be perform.the wife also can appeal to divorced their husband but it is not called "talaq". it is called "taklik"...
p/s...yes..you're right..Muslim can't drink. but i think in any religion, they have their good and bad follower(sinner)..and this is one example a bad follower of islam..

you must have read a faulty article mate. there are quite a few made up rules people feel the need to publish. I'm a Muslim and Ive never come across that rule.
good to see at least some people are not on a propaganda against all Muslims just because of a few foolish terrorists.
by the way sunnisky ignorant fools usually dont understand things. get over it.

I could be mistaking but you may have misunderstood.
Perhaps it is that there really isn't a 'divorce' as we know it. The 'divorce' would not be recognized until the woman has consimated with another man. If that never takes place, then the first marrage is still valid, and it would be therfore unnecessary to 're-marry' a spouse.

Actually that alot more.
Theirs teaching is good during Prophet Mohamad(spelling) days, chop off the hand that steal, stone to death those commit adultery...
Those teaching simply cannot apply to todays world.
That is why even Malaysia a Muslim country do not wish to turn into a Islam state.

No...I haven't heard that before. I do not think all are terrorists. Each culture or religion has their own beliefs.
