If you are driving to Canada and back, you do not need a passport until January 2008. (you would need the passport for re-re-entry btw, not to actually come to Canada) If you are driving, you need 2 pieces of ID. One must be picture ID. The most common ones used are a drivers license and original birth certificate. (that proves your citizenship) If you do happen to get a passport before then, do use that though. It will make things easier for you.
If you are FLYING to Canada, then you need to get a passport to return to the USA effective January 23, 2007. (again, its not to come to Canada you need the passport, but to return to the USA)
Have a safe trip, and try to take in a Vancouver Canucks hockey game while you are there :)

in case you're driving no, in case you're flying sure. This 12 months all flights to Canada choose for a contemporary passport. next 12 months land and sea passages will require passports too. So for you could now force into Canada along with your driving force's license and beginning certificates. The length of the stay would not rely too lots. As interior the border is the factor of interception, in case you're saying you're staying an afternoon, a week or a month, they nevertheless have your interest in basic terms once you're crossing, so it somewhat is the comparable conventional required for all people.

Yes I believe you do. I went to Vancouver in the summer with my Mom and my brother. Here's something you need to know. If you are traveling with your kids (if u have any), and your husband (if you have one) may not come (my dad had work). make sure you get his permission. its so stupid, but when i went to Vancouver they told my mother that she needed special permission from my dad to take me and my brother! so they called my dad and he said that hes working so he couldnt go. its the most idiotic thing ever, but just giving a heads up on that one!

You need a driver's license at the moment, and something to prove you are a US Citizen. Often telling them you are a US Citizen is enough. Enjoy the easy mobility now while you can.
