There is another way...

You could do your own manual check by going to "Control Panel" and then click on "System".

There, you will see your computer's specs... now compare them to the requirements of the game you wish to install / play... If the specs are greater than or equal to the game's requirements, then your PC should be able to handle it!

If You're not installing a game and just wish to see if your PC can handle some sounds and graphics...just as "Bryancella" said...

"Run" => type in "dxdiag" ,Press enter

Surely here it is.

What you do additionally is to go to games website and check to see if support list recommended specs.

Another way to tell what hardware you have on your machine is to click Start, Run, type in dxdiag and hit enter. This will bring up the direct X diagnostic utility which will show you your processor speed, system memory, direct X version, video card type and driver version and sound card and driver version.

Extremely helpful in determining what you have to compare to games min operating specification
