One thing, if you are having such a problem with your keyboard where it keeps breaking, just order a new one. The fan your talking about is the heatsink/processor fan. Just get a new one on that too. It is very important that this fan is working right, it can lead to your processor burning up and stop working indefinately if not working right. Your laptop keeps shutting down because that fan isnt working right, and the temperature of your processor is exceeding the threshhold limit. Get them fixed or just replace the parts before you do more damage then already done..

I don't know if your computer is under warranty, call them. However any off the shelf keyboard should work, they cost around $12 for the el cheapo basic, on up depending on what you want to spend. I would check with a local computer repair shop, or just get another fan from a parts store, take in the old one, see if that works. Best of luck

keyboards aren't that expensive, but, whats that points of getting a new keyboard if ur computer still shuts off. hmm... u should probably send it back to Dell if u can, if u don't want to pay good money. or u could get a computer dude over there to fix it. it sounds like ur fan is not the right kind of fan. and is probably the fan to the power supply. am i right? or is it the cpu fan? do u know? and by the way, i like ur avatar, its cute. real cute.

Send it to Dell. A rebuilt fan?? Haha, have them replace it. They probably cleaned dirt out of it to begin with. Next time buy a Toshiba Satellite. They have tremendous free warranty service on things even if you spill a coke on the machine.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
