last night i watched New Zealand vs Srilanka twenty/20 match, played in Auckland, NZ. game lasted ONLY 2 1/2 HRS!! and was full of wickets going down, see/saw battles, and wild slogging! it was a amazing....
i know we shouldnt disband ODIs or Test formats for it, but mark my words people.. this game will catch on big time..
PS commentators were talking about first ever twenty/20 championship which will be held in South Africa in october of next year. .. Cant Wait!

btw.. around 25,000 fans showed up, most of them were young.. thats what cricket needs new audience.

Its attracting new fans, and thats very good. I like watching the odd twenty20, but i don't think it should be astablished as another form of the game. i should be kept as a opener to a series and domestic

I don't like 20/20 matches myself much but no doubt its getting popular now a days....this pattern is basically introduced to get this game popular in America and other such countires where peoples don't have much time for whole day games....and i think its working and infact have seen much liking for this now....But i feel this 20/20 is killing the original game of cricket.

20/20 cricket is just a slog fest and a couple of hours of cheap entertainment, should'nt even be called cricket,so no to the question.

yes it is the next Big thing coz ppl dont hav time these days but they want entertainment which is provided by 20\20.
like 50 over match did not over throw test match same is wid 20\2o.

Those who favor 20/20 should instead watch baseball that will keep their spirits high. 20/20 is no cricket, it will kill the technique the style and flair
