You need to first make sure you don't try to clean it with anything that has an oil base. I have had some pretty good luck removing the same kinds of stains (grandkids hand prints). I have used household ammonia (do not dilute it with water). I have also used a product called Greased Lightening. It is highly concentrated so a little goes a long way. It's great degreaser and even works in the luandry to help remove grease spots because you can spray it directly on fabrics like cotton and polyester and some of the fiber blends. Read the garment's care instructions first, though. Try these and see if they help! Good Luck!

I had good luck removing a grease stain from flat wall paint using Dawn dishwashing detergent. I smeared Dawn onto the stain straight from the bottle and left it for a few hours. Then I rinsed it gently until the detergent was out, patting it with a rag. The paint finish was like new when I finished.
