I was driving home from my mothers with a large turkey in the back of my car and it fell over, the bag it was sealed in broke and blood went all over the floor. It now smells like rotting yogurt in my car. I sprayed it with lysol and that sorta worked but it comes back after about 20 minutes. My uncle who is a hunter said to use peroxide to take it out however I was wonder if anyone else had other suggestions?

Scrub with a deodorizing carpet cleaner, using a carpet cleaning machine with suction, if possible. After it's dry, sprinkle on a layer of baking soda, let set for awhile, then vacuum.

You might also let the car air out as much as possible, in the fresh air and sunshine. Place a pan of charcoal briquettes near the affected area. Charcoal is supposed to absorb odors.

Spray with Febreeze when carpet is dry. I think you can eventually remove the smell; it just make take awhile and some hard work. Hope some of the suggestions you've received will work for you,.

New car smell is good, I always get that scent for my car freshener. But I can appreciate the smell of paint too. I don't really like the gas smell but I don't hate it. And I'm not sure what new carpets smell like. Interestingly, I had new carpet put in my apartment last year when there was flood damage. But I don't remember it smelling like anything.

Disinfect the area with a cleaner. Scrub it and soak up the excess moisture..Then apply baking soda to eliminate any excess odor. After a day...vacuum up the baking soda

your uncle is right...blood is organic and the peroxide should bubble it right out with a few applications...it is easy and cheap...try it and see
for the smell...an open box or bowl with charcoal briquettes or several boxes of baking soda

I wouldn't use peroxide it usually has a bleaching effect. try pouring rubbing alcohol on it and also those carpet deodorizers that are foam like arm and hammer, etc. and maybe febreze.
