I already know about the four seasons.

There is a really good one, whose name I know not, that AT&T (SBC formerly) would play while you were on hold.

Please help!!!

The Brahms Violin Concerto is probably the most famous one... the Sibelius is also really cool.

For solo violin, The Devil's Trill by Tartini is a well-known piece that's friggin' awesome.

A really nice one is Adagio for Strings, it's not just for violin, but all the good parts are. It's by a man named Samuel Barber, and it's in a lot of sad movies.

I like the J.S.Bach Concerto for Two Violins and Basso Continuo BWV 1043 in D minor (yes, I had to check the CD case).

As far as value to classical music, you can't beat the Bach Sonatas and Partitas. They are amazingly intricate. Though they aren't perhaps the most enjoyable for most to listen to, they are definitely worth your time. Another gem is the Salut d'Amour by Elgar. It is the musical equivalent of a Shakespear sonnet and a gorgeous piece.
