Look for a broken or corroded ground in the rear of the car for those lights.

It is very common for the switch to go faulty. The switches are about £54 + vat. If you know what you're doing you can make a temp repair at the fuses to give the lights a feed.

if the front side lights work the problem will be an earth wire on the block connector that plugs into the light
