3Na + 4 HNO3 = 3NaNO3 + 2H20 + NO

(will take place because Na has the higher oxidation potential)

Ni + CuO = NiO + Cu

(will take place because Ni has a higher oxidation potential)

Zn + Mg(NO3)2 = Zn(NO3)2 + Mg

(will not take place because Zn has a lower oxidation potential)
