Well, I bet that we nurses are forever confronted with that kind of situation.
Of course, we already are obliged to wear uniforms but somehow, I think you mean something else...
I am not sure that team work is the only situation you have to adapt you style however.
Suppose you are a vendor, you try also to "enter" the style of the customers, don't you..
Dear Xikoni, actually you need to compromise about everything in life...
I know, it sounds terribly politically correct but this is really how life is...
It starts with school and never ends except when and if you are going to live alone on an island but even so...
Soon or later some Friday is going to come and then YOU will be the one who is going to rule how life have to be!
The outcome?
Well, bad knee ruled me out of nursing and I am sorry to say so, but seeing how the work load is increasing by the years, maybe I was lucky...
And sure, in whichever team it needs only one person to ruin the ambiance...

Wow! Reminds me of marriage (cough cough)
I wish my wife and I had set down some goals of our marriage and an outline of what our marriage was about. We should each have realized what parts of ourselves should be put aside for the benefit of the marriage and found ways to exercise the potentials not important to marriage in other ways.
I was too dependent and selfish and the marriage dissolved.
