It is being considered as the start of Cold War -1947, i thought it started in 1945 with the end of World War II, what makes Truman Doctrine a starting point?

At the end of WWII the USA and USSR were allies, brothers in arms having fought together against Hitler and the Japanese fascists.
Responding to prodding from the British, Truman declared that communism must be actively contained and started doing so mostly by giving money to US allies starting with the corrupt dictatorships in Greece and Turkey.
The Cold War brought us several good things like the Internet and Woodstock and lots of bad things like the Vietnam war and the nuclear arms race.
Luckily it's over and our world is headed towards a better future.
You may say I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
Merry Christmas!

The Truman Doctrine was the beginning of the END of the Cold war. We reaped its benefits when the Soviet Union collapsed of its own weight, and Ronald Reagan got all the credit. Let us now give Truman his props.

You're quite right and before 1945 when the allies sold out allied countries such as Poland to Stalin the same way they did with Hitler which made WWII a joke. They stopped Hitler only to turn them over to Russia without a shot being fired.
