My friend who has 2 kids goes into graphic detail with me talking about pushing on her belly to get the plecenta out and the tearing and everything- she says there's no better birth control than the knowledge of exactly what you can get yourself into!

The first real problem is the heartburn and peeing all the time when your belly gets to big and starts pushing other organs out of the way. The second problem is the horible cramping in your lower back. It feels like someone twisting a knife in there. Taking the muscle and turning it inside out and upside down. Then After the painful muscle spasms. There is the horrible stretch marks, the never wearing a bikini again body, the period that lasts forever while you have this THING that demands to be fed and changed EVERY two hours. Then if it's got colic it cries like ALL the time and for about the first four months you don't get ANY sleep. It spits up crap that looks like curdled milk and it poops out stuff that even your dog would shun(dog's eat crap). If it's a boy it can pee on you with a smile on his face. Oh and if you don't have three hands you might have to catch the wee one as he rolls off of the changing table before you get his diaper on. Oh and then they grow up and yell and fight with their siblings. They won't do their homework. They learn to drive and roll the car over three times or get pregnant and you must start all over again.

Because the nice fluffy stuff (the baby) is the important part, all that other stuff is peripheral. If you really ask a Mom for the gory details, most will tell all, but in the end all the work, effort and trouble is worth it for the baby!
