Okay this question will probably get removed because it seems that rather than talk about controversial topics everyone would rather complain and get these kinds of questions removed.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt regardless of race, color, etc… But I know that not everyone does and its not always been like this for America where slavery was legal and women had no rights at one time. But I ask you, is the way to fix discrimination, with reverse discrimination?

Please be open minded here and think about this from a non-bias viewpoint. Could you imagine the upset if we had Miss White America pageant, scholarships for white Americans, NAAWP and if we had laws that required that all employees hire a certain number of white people despite who might be better qualified for a position. Obviously there would be an outrage but there is a Miss Black America, scholarships only given to Black Americans, the NAACP and laws that require employers to hire various races regardless of qualifications of their peers. Is this how you fix discrimination, with more discrimination? I mean lets think about it in 20 or 30 more years when your childrens children have only ever known that if you are black you get special scholarships, have special elitist interest groups, beauty pageants and more but you are only privileged to do these things if you are black. In 30 years all the children will know is that only the black kids get special privileges.

Maybe I am just an idiot but it seems to me the way to fight discrimination is to do away with it all together. But here our country is forcing reverse discrimination down out throats. Unfortunately for some of the rednecks that still hang confederate flags on their pickup you almost need legislation like this but surely there is a better way. What are your thoughts on reverse discrimination?

I cant agree with you more - and for the record, Im hispanic...

While attending university (paid for by myself, working a full time job so I could go to school at night), I could never understand why there was Black student union, a hispanic student union and an asian student union. I couldnt understand why the school woulld allow Asians to post flyers advertising a party that weekend - written in Chinese only, so only Chinese students could attend. When it came time to graduate, I was sickened at the idea of joining the Hispanics only ceremony.... Whats the deal? Are Hispanics less intelligent and thus need a different ceremony? Are blacks? Asians?
What Ive come to realize is that much of the racial issues and "discrimination" that people experience is a direct result of the self-imposed segregation that races place on themselves... If White students had parties only whites were invited to, it would be outrage....but when asians do it, its all good. If it was a white only graduation ceremony, riots would start. Blacks though, thats acceptable....

Ive never understood it and I never will. I am not Hispanic - IM A DAMN AMERICAN, regardless of my skin color.

I like your question and anyone who complains is a very very bad person. A good question like this is kinda hard to find..brings up reality without being rude..seriously kudos for the question.

Anyway I would say no for 2 reasons
1) Every race has been oppressed at some point in time so it is time to move BEYOND payback and into the future.
2) Reverse Discrimination will just cause a pendulum effect which will ensure that racism will be alive and thriving 5000 years from now.

To Black Heaven: It is THAT attitude that will ensure a global war that kills off the human race altogether and is the root cause of all race issues in this day and age.

Reverse discrimination isn't the answer, but it's all the liberal elements can think of, to make those who were formerly discriminated against "feel better" and to make whites "feel bad", sort of like, "see how you like it for a while." They don't get it that actual results, not how something makes you "feel", are what matters. Emotions are fine, but they are most of what has gotten us into every war we have ever been in since the beginning of time. If one were to think, war wouldn't be such a reasonable course to take; even in the case of Osama, we didn't need to start a war with an entire country(especially the wrong one). We could have simply sent a small detachment in to find Bin Laden, that probably would have taken a fraction of the time this war has, behead his murderous self, then stick his head on a pike in Washington, D.C.

I read about this and it actually has been passed in a few colleges across the nation as their new policy. It seems sort of contradicting ( to fight racisim with racism), but it might be the answer. If people truly want to be treated alike, then they should be judged alike when it comes to getting what we want in life. If we want a good job, we'd better bust our butts to get the degree needed to get it and we'd better start saving for college now because we aren't going to be admitted by just the color of our skin.

I, too, am not racist. I believe this is a great idea. Equality is what it is called and if it's what everyone has been striving for, then everyone better be prepared for the consequences of an even playing field. In other words, be careful for what you wish for.

I would like to answer this part of your question, because my wife who is white, has been a victim of “Employment Reverse Discrimination”. I am from a (Minority Group) Native American. Yet it is very disturbing to me as a Minority, when I see how Whites are being treated by the Discriminatory Hiring Process Policies of many Major Department Stores, Sears, JC Penny's, and many more Large Corporations located in America, the Land of Opportunity, that is quickly losing Equal Employment Opportunities.

My wife is a very qualified and experienced Department Store Sales Clerk. She was discriminated against by many of the Major Retail Department Stores, while applying for work in her occupation. Regardless of her experience, qualifications, and excellent work references, they refused to give her any chance for a job interview, when she responded to help wanted ads, listing many vacant jobs in her occupation.

Meanwhile others from a specific minority group were selected by a certain “Quota and Hire Criteria” they had a chance to be interviewed and hired, while my wife who was fully qualified had no opportunity to interview or have a chance to be hired based upon her qualifications and experience. An Equal Chance of her gaining employment as the Minorities did have, was taken away, simply by a Tax Credit Law that was specifically created to be “Bias” and “Selectively Discriminate” in the Hiring Process.

On more than one occasion, she contacted Department Store Human Resources Offices, after applying for work and they told her chance at employment with the Department Store where she had Applied, was not based upon her personal qualifications and experience, but that her employment was strictly based upon her meeting a "certain criteria" which she did not meet.

She then questioned what criteria she did not meet, because knowing her level of experience and qualifications, she should have easily qualified for the position. The Human Resources Manager told her She must be in a Specific Targeted Minority Group to qualify for a job interview, and have a possible chance to be considered for Interview and Employment.

After Applying at many Department Stores, we noticed a trend of specific questions were listed on each application, which were
for the purpose of Identifying if the applicant was of a Targeted Specific Minority Group. Obviously if the applicant was Identified as not being from that Specific Minority Group, he or she would not be considered for the job interview, and not allowed to have an equal chance or opportunity at employment.

Needless to say, It was determined, my wife was a victim of Reverse Discrimination. After much research I found out, there is a “Bias Tax Credit Law” that Congress created, which promotes Reverse Discrimination in the Hiring Process, and Rewards Large Employers with a Large Tax Credit. Thousands of dollars given to the Employers who overlook one particular Race, (Whites) and Selectively Hire persons from a Specific Minority Group who meet a Specified Criteria.

The Employer Annually receives Thousands of Dollars from the Government in the form of a Tax Credit, for each person they hire, who meets the Criteria of being from this Selected Minority Group. These big Corporation Employers are making Millions by “Discriminating against Whites” Sears and JC Penny’s are just a few Corporations who have instituted these Policies.

Whites who apply for work, are rejected regardless of work experience and qualifications, if they do not “Meet the Criteria” of being from this "Specified Minority Group". This is determined as "Bias Selective Employment" which is definitely “Reverse Discrimination” in no uncertain terms! Do something about it, or this Country will pay the price on down the road! Contact your Congressman about this Dangerous Law that takes away the Chance of Equal Employment Opportunity for Millions of White Americans who would otherwise have a fair chance to find gainful employment on an Equal Level, per Work Experience Hard Earned Qualifications and Good Work References.

Many Large Employers in the U.S. have adapted this Tax Credit Program for their Benefit, which “Discriminates” against "White" workers. SO MUCH FOR EQUAL EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS IN AMERICA? So called Deceptive “Fair Employment Laws” are now being used to justify hiring Minorities, creating a process of Reverse Discrimination in the Hiring Process!

Any kind of discrimination is wrong. But ask yourself this, isn't the pageants White enough? They don't have to be titled, "Miss White Beauty pageant" but it is certainly implied. Blacks try to keep things even and balanced in a White only world.

confident, racism is a lot especially in direction of whites. the different races whinge each and each time a individual is white and being racist, yet on yet another question this is racist *in direction of* whites they are all like "Yeah yeah!" and giving all the racists thumbs up whilst they are racist in direction of whites. it is so humorous cuz it portrays actual existence. blacks whinge approximately racism yet then be racist to whites.
