Israel recognizes Jews none the less. its the Beis Din* that doesnt accept them..... there are many programs that can help you with it. but why go thru it twice? better just do what you think will be more strict, because a very leniant convertion might consist of problems. the Israeli Beis Din* doesnt really take conservative convertions either.

a friend of mine, his mother converted thru a conservative process. according to this person, it was unclear how much it was to the regulations (not that I know how it works). so now he is going thru a orthodox conversion porcess.

Beis Din, in Hebrew, literally means courthouse, or house of law... in other words, its the court of Jewish law

I think you misunderstood what the reformed rabbi was telling you. Orthodox/Hassidic jews do not regard other forms of judaism as true judaism, because they follow a very strict and ultra-orthodox form of judaism. I am jewish by faith, but I am neither observant, nor do I dress in any way to distinguish myself from anyone else, and thus, the orthodox jews would classify me as just another gentile. If you do convert, DO NOT convert to orthodox judaism unless you want to spend the rest of your life being a brainwashed slave to the Talmud and to orthodox nonsense. If you are a woman, you will be nothing more than a baby machine and a worn out housewife whose sole purpose in life is to make babies and take care of household chores. Orthodox judaism is no different than radical islam, and is just as insane in its teachings..trust me.

The rabbi didn't know what he is talking about, or he just gave you a bulls**t story. Israel has many Jews who aren't Conservative, orthodox or anything. They are merely Jewish.
Some aren't even Jewish. There are Arabs in Israel as well as Christians and atheists. Remember it is a democracy.

I really doubt that, israeli government is not in any way orthodox it self. it wouldn't even accept the torah as the constitution as some of the orthodox jews request.

You need to ask other Rabbis about this. I have never heard it to be true.
