We help them year round because you won't. That simple. Also, I may also be a tree hugger, but that has nothing to do with how I treat the homeless or anybody else. I even treat sanctimonious neo cons as real people, worthy of love. What's so wrong with that? At times, tough love is the most needed kind of love.

I am so sick of more of the same claiming the "latest study that shows neocons give more". It's a crock. Those with less have always given more of what they have, as a rule. The church run food banks in this area bears this out completely. We have less to begin with but we still give. Now, can you spell s-a-n-c-t-i-m-o-n-i-o-u-s? The truth will set you free, but first it may piss you off.

You go to any day labor place...Like Labor Ready or Labor Express and do a head count and see how many people that show up at those places at five in the morning to find a days work, Dirty work at state minimum wage,
are either living under a bridge or in a shelter.
But ask parents permission before doing so.
Clueless.

And...I live in Seattle...the more trees the better.
Do you live in one of those places where a new Walmart next to the MEGA CHURCH or better yet....A NEW STATE PRISON FACILITY is a sign of hope for the town?
Apparently you do....cause you ain't been around.

note: And furthermore.....If you ever got around you would have noticed that the people doing a large proportion of the feeding are church people and they are out there alll year round.
I had Thanksgiving dinner with guy whose church does feeds for street kids here in Seattle.
People should starve?
You are a peach of a guy BRIAN.

Very often they don't. What are you doing about it? Are you one of the people who pretends he doesn't see, who rushes past in order to get home and turn on the TV and pretend his life has some meaning other than to go to work in order to make money to buy more stuff to need more money? You make a fine cog in the machine, son. Those homeless people are needed to keep you in your place. As long as you see them, you will always think that unless you have a tidy little job and a tidy little box to live in and tidy little mechanical things to buy, you will end up sleeping under a bridge somewhere. As long as you are asking questions, why not ask yourself where your life and planet are going, and why every time you get close to the answer you have to go out and buy some piece of plastic crap to keep from feeling afraid. Until the next time, and the next time. As long as you have someone to look down upon, your own meaninglessness won't overwhelm you, right? Get back to the mall where you belong. You are clearly too far gone to be of any use to the rest of us who think we have value other than as human capital.

I've often suggested that they move into the upper class areas, and simply take what they need, In this place, theres more than enough to go around, and the owners would be waiting for someone else to come to their rescue,so they'd have plenty of time to slip back into the slums, where these "folks" think they belong....

The homeless survive cuz they know where all the soup kitchens are. Some are mental cases and should not be on the street, but that is a fact of life in our society. Some work part time at odd jobs and some do not care.

some dont obviously, some live out of shelters druing th eseverly cols months, some stay in the swere and syubway systems, it must be a misreable way to live, but then we'd rather see them starve slowly then to work on social economical and mental health programs as we're counrties to invade and the envornment to destroy

Unless you are mentally Ill, there is no reason anyone should be homeless. If you can afford a pack of cigarettes, you can buy a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shower. Then get a job.

Put them up at your place Brian, that is if you let go of the tree long enough.
