They should have traded their first round pick and picked up a bunch of stellar offensive linemen and signed a few free agents like Ty Law on Defense. Then they would have been able to run the ball and given David Carr more time to throw. Carr isn't a bad QB, he just doesn't have time and no real receivers aside from Johnson. Another option would have been drafting Vince Young I suppose and trading Carr for some defensive players. They wouldn't need the line so much because of Young's ability to move the ball outside of the pocket and spread things out a bit.

It's still too early to judge because you don't draft for one season. I think Houston might have been better served trading down for multiple picks. Mario Williams has had a solid season, Demico Ryans has had a very good rookie season. Maybe by building their defense the Texans will start winning. If they win a title with Williams, but Reggie Bush, Vince Young and Matt Leinart all have better statistical careers, I'd say the Texans made the right choice.

I see why you are not an NFL head coach. It isn't about the end of this season. That is short term thinking and will not keep you in the league long. The better gauge for a #1 pick is who will be still in the league and producing at a high level 5, 6, 7 years down the road.

well...their offense actually isnt that bad, so Im not going to say they absolutely needed reggie bush or Vince young or anybody like that. I guess its just Mario Williams being a bust. David Carr has played as well if not better than can be expected givin the defense and line he has, so drafting vince would have been stupid because they both make first round money. Drafting reggie would have been nice, but not absolutely needed. Hindsight is 20 20 of course but it turns out they should have drafted either d'brickishaw ferguson or the rookie left tackle that plays for san diego. I dont know his name but he is really good. They also should have looked more closely into trading. but again they couldnt have known that up to this point mario williams would be a bust.

Vince young. The QB position is the most important position on the field. Young is a born leader. He inspires other players and is idolised in the state of Texas. Bush and Lienhart will turn out to be above average players however they will not have the same impact on the NFL as Young will. He will be what Michael Vick could of been.

Vince Young because he has a winner's attitude and would attract fans more than even Reggie Bush. He was born in and was a high-school hero in Houston. Plus, he has the ability to get out of the pocket and help out that terrible offensive line.

I'd have to go with Vince Young. He made a 4th quarter comeback on the gaints is think and he's really helping the titans. If any team got VT they would get better.

i think david carr is a pretty good qb..so they didnt need to waste a pick on a qb..i would like to say reggie bush, but when healthy last year domanick davis had a pretty good season and now it looks like ron dayne and wali lundy can carry the ball as well..andre johnson is a great WR, so they are set there..id have to say if anything they should have taken brick ahead of the jets..he is playing solid and a better o-line would definitely have been beneficial to carr...i know of one person they shouldnt have taken #1 though..and thats williams
