The father determines the sex of the baby. His sperm will contain either an X or a Y chromosome. if its an x the baby will be a girl, if its a y it will be a boy.
postion, time of month, diet or any other wives tale has no bearing at all on what you will have.

What I have always been told, was that if the baby is laying high in your stomach, it will be a boy, if the baby lays low in your stomach, the baby will be a girl. This rang true in my case. My baby layed high up in my tummy, and he was a boy! (just brushing your hand over your tummy, you can feel where your baby is laying, and if your tummy is more rounded at the top, or the bottom, you can tell by looking in the mirror.)
Some say Mother's just know. I knew my baby was a boy, before I even knew about babies either laying high or low in a woman's tummy. I even told my doctor he was a boy during my first pre-natal exam, when she kept calling him a girl! My doctor looked at me funny, and had to tell me, "we just say that, so it will be fair". I think she was a feminist! LOL, Im NOT joking! It is funny today though. I just knew in my heart my baby was a boy, no matter how many people told me I was silly! Even my own mother told me I was!
Sexual positions have nothing to do with the sex of a baby. Thats an old wives tale.
Usually, but, not always, children come in sets, that if you have a girl, it is likely your next child will be a girl, then the 3rd, a boy, or boy, girl, girl, boy, boy, girl, or vise-versa. Boy, boy, girl, boy, boy, girl. Oh BOY, thats a lot of kids! This is the most common line in which babies are born.
I waited until my baby was born to be told what sex he was, and with what little energy I had left, I smiled at my doc and laughed. I was right! LOL
You can, if you want, let the doctor tell you before your birth what the sex of the baby is, in an exam (ultra-sound) where they insert a long needle into your belly, extracting cells and fluids, checking for possible problems the baby could have, during a pre-natal exam, such as Downs-syndrome (this is commonly done, but I never did it), as they can tell from the cells, and also by using a camera, but I feel, personally, it takes a lot of the excitement away once your baby is placed in your arms for the first time.
I hope you have a wonderful, easy birth. I did, and my son is the best gift God ever gave me.

within the egg there is a chromosome relating to the sex of the baby this will always be x. within the sperm there is a chromosome relating to the sex of the baby, it will be either x or y. if the sperm that enters the egg is an x the embryo will be xx hence a girl. if the sperm that enters the egg is y the embryo will be xy and a boy. the tales about position etc come from a time when the grass grew because god made it and a person got sick and died because the devil took them, while we now know the grass grows because of photosynthesis and we understand germs and virus's and disease. they were a way of understanding the world before science, personally i dont think they are foolproof.

Its the sperm that determines gender. Female sperm stays alive longer than the male sperm. So which ever one penatrates the egg first will be the gender of your child. X chromosomes are for boys and y are for girls. theres also a medical procedure where u can pick the sex of your child by having all of one genders chromosomes extracted from the sperm and injected back into the woman, so if u want a boy have all of the girl chromosomes taken out of the sperm and put back in. it costs 5000$ but its been done.

Well the main factor is whether they receive the X chromosome or the Y from yout partner. It sounds to me like you are asking if there are other factor's that can help you get a boy or girl. If the male wears really tight breifs the odds of a girl increase. If you have intercourse on the 2 days prior to 2 days after ovulation (including the day of ovulation) you chances of having a boy increase. If you have intercourse 5-3 days before ovulation the odds of having a girl increase. The reason for this is; Male sperm swim faster but die off quicker than the female sperm do, if the egg has already been released they will get there first. The female sperm swim slower but live longer so if you have intercouse a few days before you ovulate the males will die off and the females will hang around and wait for the egg. While it sounds simple it is not as easy as it sounds, you have to know your cycle really well and if your days just happen to be off it may not work at all. This is based on a book called "How to choose the sex of your baby". It has worked for a lot of people including me. Boys were all concieved on the night before or the day I ovulated. My one and only daughter was from intercourse 5 days before ovulation. Boys are easy you just have to do it when you ovulate. For gitls you have to start out 5 days before (no unprotected sex after that) If you did not concieve that month then the next month go to 4 days before and so on. It really requires a lot of patience and a lot of months if trying for a girl and still it may not work so you can try it or just take your chances. Either way you will get what you get. Good luck.

It is the Father who determines the sex.
Woman has XX chromosomes and the man has XY.
My roommate is 1 of 5 daughters. Her mother had three husbands. The first three have had only daughters and the other sister had had two boys. Everyone (from her family) keeps waiting for her to get pregnant and see what happens but basic biology tells you what the determineing factors are. All we are are the fertile field. It is up to the males seed to determin what grows there.
Check with him and get the history from his family, that might give you an idea of what you "might" expect.

well, family doesn't play a big hand but it does affect it. however, gender is determined mostly by the DNA in ur partner. If his sperm has an X chromosome, hten it is a girl. If it is a Y then it is a boy. all eggs have an X chormosome so ur the sprem decides the gender.

I've read that it depends on what position your in for the x and y sperm to get there quicker. If the woman lye on her back the x chrome. will get there faster and if she is on her knees and you're going in from the rear the y will get there faster. Its said that the x chrome. which is the girl is faster and stronger and the y which is the boy is weaker and slower, that's why it's said that position is the way to try and get a specific sperm to the egg first.

As a female you only produce x chromosomes. The male sperms carry both . Depending on which one fertilizes your egg determines the sex of the baby. The male determines the sex of the baby not the female.

hmmm... chromosomes. if the sperm is an X, it's a girl. if the sperm is a Y, it's a boy. you have a 50/50 chance of getting one or the other.
All the other stuff about position, etc, is an old wives tale. Take it with a grain of salt.
