I lost my baby at 9 weeks. It started the same way. Small amount of bleeding which then got heavier and then i had really bad cramps. My GP told me that miscarrages take place between 5 -7 days of when the bleeding starts. If you are miscarrying, at this early stage there will be nothing that can be done to prevent it. It has not been proven that resting prevents miscarriage.
It may be that you have what they call a threatend miscarriage where you get the symptoms but you don't actually lose the baby.
Go to A&E and ask to be referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit where that will be able to do an internal scan to let you know if the baby has passed.

Firstly, I hope that you arent having a miscarriage, but the most common symptom is vaginal bleeding, which can range from light spotting to heavier than a period. You may see blood clots, brown discharge or other tissue that is not clearly identifiable. Sometimes a sac-like structure is seen.
Often there is cramping, with pelvic or back-pain. You may find that the usual symptoms of pregnancy, such as breast tenderness, feeling sick and having to pass urine more frequently than usual, stop unexpectedly.
Sometimes there are no signs or symptoms of miscarriage and pregnancy symptoms continue, and the miscarriage is only discovered in a routine scan.

Go to the ER and call your OBGYN. Bleeding is one thing, but to have clots with it, is something that needs to be checked out immediatly.

if you are miscarrying then you will get really bad pains in your stomach like really bad period pains and the blood will be really heavy, phone your hospital and they will give you a scan, let us know how it goes, i have had one before and its really painful, so if you are not in pain then there is a little hope, i bled through my last pregnancy and it was just spot bleeding and i was fine.

go to the hospital if there is a problem you have a better chance of saving the baby the faster you get there. i hope for your childs sake you look in better places for answers to the questions relating to him or her growing up than an internet forum.

anything out of the ordinary you should refer to your doctor about, no one on here will be able to answer it without taking an ultasound or investigating. Go to the emergancy room if you think its in trouble.
