In a town of 600 people in Texas, at 32, I found myself an "unwed mother". To aggravate this delicate situation, the father was Mexican.
In 1st grade, on the 1st day of classes, his teacher came out into the hall when classes let out and said, "My, my, Ross' skin is so much darker than yours. What was his father?" I was so taken aback and flabbergasted by this rude question, that for once, my brain worked at lightning speed.
I said, "an economist". The look on her face was priceless and she hated me and my son from that day forward. The school was Carver Academy for Gifted and Talented in Marshall, Texas. If only there was such a thing for teachers as a b**** test ...

Its funny that people who live in osme of the most repressive societies on the planet, seem to be the most likely to jump down the throats of free speech enthusiasts. My awkward question comes from myself, why would kitten on a ribbon report my honest answer to a question?

I would not go on a 100 mile drive with a guy I'd just met, no way! You're right, you would probably freak her out if you just come out and invite her. So... What I would do, is tell her what you're doing and how you're really looking forward to it... See what she says and how she reacts, you never know, she might invite herself or ask you if you're going with someone... She may even just ask if you want any company, then and only then, would I invite her.

I'm a bit on the over weight side where as the woman IS just starting to show that little bump on the tummy. I have that.
And I always answer when you can tell ME who's the father.. lol.. or something like that.

long time ago i was dating this guy and because i was asian he asked me how come i could speak perfect english.....then i thought he was so dumb i answered a dumb question back like "because i went to school" and made this face like DUH! and he didnt get it....he went like.."oh......."
um...it was an awkward moment.
