Compressor manufacturers are notorious for making claims of horsepower that just isn't there. Normal 120V motors will use about 7.5 Amps (about 900 watts) per horsepower. IF the motor truly is a 1.5 HP, it will have an amp rating around 11-11.5 amps or about 1350 watts. That is likely to be the maximum your unit might pull.

Under current codes, a standard household circuit is 15 amps, a garage/kitchen circuit would be 20 amps.

Not having seen that particular compressor, other 1.5 HP motors are rated for about 8 amps, depending upon efficiency. Yours should be similar. That would put the total watts at around 1000.

I would assume(I know what that does) it would not pull much more than about 15 amps. Most of your homeowner type compressors are in that range. With the 3 compressor we use on job sites, we either plug them directly into the outlet or into a 12ga drop cord to prevent the current loss. Hope that answers your questions... As for the rating, it should be on the stamp on the motor.
