As impersonal as gift cards are - older children love them. They get to choose what they buy. (My 10 year old cousin loves them) Cash is also good - because it is universal. It will depend on your 9 year old. Books are good - some series that seem to be popular - Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson Most boys love Nerf guns and toys. They get to run around and shoot things. Some action movies are coming out with some new action figures (Iron Man 2) Good luck! Avoid: stuffed animals

Legos. Anything that can be used outside - balls, a rocket. Computer game. Action figures, but it would have to be something he is interested in. McDonald's coupons.

that new ball thing thats called "20 Q" I think thats the name.. its just like the old 8 ball that used to be used to ask questions but this one is electronic... its cool!!!
