So he thought it would be a nice idea to get her a gift card for a local salon, it was for a "mini retreat", she was going to get a facial, 1/2 hour massage, scalp treatment, manicure, lunch & hair style done.
He spent about $130 on it, theyve only been together for 4 months. ANd he knows she never spends money on herself, only her kids & he thought she deserved to be pampered for a day.
It was completely his idea, but I did go pick i up for him b/c hes be very busy. She got him a ring which probably cost about $150. Well she got all pissed off & told him that he didnt put any thought into the gift & he didnt go get it himself. She told him that she more than "likes" him so thats why she got him jewelry & obviously he doesnt feel the same about her! WTF!!! So basically she expected to get jewerly?!
It probably made it worse when she found out that he got me this really nice necklace that i wanted!
Ladies would you like that kind of gift? I thought it was nice....

He did dump her last nite!!! I think shes realizing how stupid she is, shes been trying to call him & he isnt answering her calls! haha! SHE MESSED UP b/c my dad is a good guy & she knows it.

I would have totally loved getting a gift like that but it sounds like she may have had much higher (unrealistic at 4 months of dating I must say) expectations of a gift (of possibly an engagement ring or something similar) some women cannot be pleased. It sounds like your father has the best of intentions and I probably would be in a pool of tears of joy over the gift and the thought he put into and the fact you helped him by going to pick it up for him. Sorry the gift did not go over well, its a shame.

Oh gosh, I wanna go slap your dad and his idiotic girl friend! She has no place to yell at you especially if you were sicka nd just wanted to come home. Your dad should have came and got you, no questions asked. I think you should go live with your mom, at your age you need the influence of a woman, an unless your mom is really messed up you should be with her. Just be strong and show your dad that you will not tolerate him chosing his girlfriend over you and well being!

I wish someone I'd only been with 4 months thought that much about me! I wish my husband of 7 years thought that much about me! And why shouldn't you help him out by going for the card? And why shouldn't he buy you a necklace? Your HIS kid! He's supposed to get you things! She's a jealous witch, and she probably wanted him to get her an engagement ring...which we'll hope he doesn't, because it's obvious that nothing he ever could do would be enough!

I would of loved that gift- I think it was very thoughtful. After only 4 months of dating she really shouldn't expect a ring already or any , I think she is just trying to rush the relationship. And to actually complain about a gift like that is just tacky. I think your Dad should find someone who appreciates him more.

I love spa treatments and would love a gift like that. However, some people just don't like to pamper themselves and may see it as a waste of time and money.
At any rate, your dad should dump her. She doesn't appreciate him. It's the thought that counts. Some men wouldn't have even bothered getting anything at all.

Sounds like a gold-digging douchebag to me, and one with old baggage from a previous marriage. I can see why her husband left her based on what you describe. Your dad should drop her like a bad habit before she makes things worst for your dad and you, because women like her are money grubbing idiots and don't deserve any man with that kind of snotty high strung attitude.
Kudos to your dad for keeping his dignity and getting rid of her. A good woman will come along someday and will not care what kind of gifts she is given.

I think it was a very nice gift, too. I would've been so happy to receive it. Your dad's girlfriend has some nerve to be so ungrateful and materialistic! I can't believe there are women who are so high-maintenance. She's only been dating your dad for four months - c'mon now! I've been dating my boyfriend for three years now. He didn't buy me any jewelry for Christmas, but I didn't get upset about it. You dad's girlfriend needs to get a grip.

That's a great gift! I think it has more thought put into it than some stupid jewelry. He wanted her to relax and enjoy herself! Your dad needs to seriously find another woman!

I would love for my husband to get me that kind of gift!!!! Sounds like she's just in it for what she can get. She probably just wants the bling. Your dad would be better off without her. she's insane..4 months, what does she want....diamonds??? He needs to lose that one, quick...I think a day of pampering is an awesome gift idea, I would love that.Drama queen, is what she is.If she acts childish and immature like this after only 4 months, he's definitely in for a lot of fun with that one.
