Mainly i'm considering to be a physical education teacher as i also want to coach baseball in high school. What i'm wondering is what degree is required to teach physical education? Is it the same requirements no matter what you teach? If the location matters i'm located in syracuse, NY if anyone can help me out i'd love it.

A teaching degree would help---You might want to consider another major like math or science. You can still coach baseball.
There seems to be a wealth of PE majors --that's why I suggested another field. Go here for additional requirements in New York...

You will need a teaching degree...if you have previous credit from college, it could be used toward electives. I agree with a previous answer, though, I would avoid PE as there are so many out there right now. You could still coach by going into another field. I am in NY, too, not too far from you and there are way too many PE teachers around here. Math/science or language or special education will get you a job much quicker. You can also coach baseball without a teaching degree, but those jobs are much harder to find.

Some schools are so despesprate for coaches that you can go to the district office and offer your experience for a small stipend. Another way is to get a provisional teaching cert for a year but if you plan on remaining in new york you will find it very difficult to find anything. There is an abundance of teachers in New York due to the number of colleges pumping out teachers each semester.

Where I live (Canada) you need a degree in Physical Education or Kinesiology and a teaching certificate (which takes one or two years of full time study to obtain). The market is competitive and people with second degrees in Education have more luck finding jobs.
