Global Warming - pollution, rising sea levels, deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest (Brazil - the only real rainforest left on earth which produces 1/3 of the earth's oxygen - its actually referred to as an oxygen bed - and its being chopped down at a massive rate to further development of the 3rd World Country, like Europe did centuries ago)
Melting of the polar ice caps ( along with the Amazaon rainforest and the ocean depths the only 3 unexplored frontiers left on earth - so what do we have to lose from them? New species of animals/plants - potential cures for life threatening diseases - a piece of history - and an imbalace in the earth's climate) - even the unexplored ocean depths that we're polluting by sinking oil rigs - issues that are affecting the world 'today - you could do quite a bit with any one of those.
Renewable sources of energy and clean sources of energy - because fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal won't last forever - estimated only another 50 years - the alternatives are wind energy, tide energy, solar energy...etc.

You could do something on rising sea-levels caused by global warming. For example, if you can find some data on how many feet higher the sea is likely to be 10, 20, 30 years from now, you can show on maps what the coast-line will look like somewhere that your class-mates are interested in, such as New York or Miami. Satellite photos from Google Earth might be useful.
