English AND French are Canada's official languages. In dealing with the government, Canadians have the right to be served in either French or English. English is spoken in the majority of the country but Quebec is predominately French. There are also pockets of French speakers in other provinces -mainly in the maritimes.

Canada's Official language is English
although the province of Quebec also has French as an official language. In Quebec, french must be the prominent language on all signs with English as the smaller language. Most icitizens of Quebec are bilingual although they probably won't admit that they can speak English!
