Just posted a question and realised i didnt explain properly (soz im new to this!)
In relation to the ovaries, ive been for a scan and been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. The doc mentioned this 'collapsing follicle' and i was confused whether it meant, its ovulating or like somone has already answered, its like not doing what its supposed to be doing?! Any answers would be a great help.... im so confused!!

It means that the follicle did not develop as much as it was supposed to so that ovulatation can occur. It just collapsed on its way to ovulation and hence formed a cyst which is typical of PCO. The body does not pump enough hormones to finish the ovulation process and it ends up as a blister on the ovaries.
