no mucus plug,no water breaks only mild cramps and backpains at 38 weeks and 5 days? dues date on january 3. do i have to be alarmed?

Nah, I'm due Jan 1 and haven't had any dilation, no mucus plug, mild contractions... same thing. It's frustrating, but there's nothing you (or I) can do about it! I tried walking around and trying to "open my butterfly" as our childbirth classes taught us, but to no avail. I just keep looking forward to the Dr. visits to see if anything has changed from last week to this week.

Its always easy to react to everything different when you're pregnant- especially when you're so close! I'd say pay attention to your body a little more for the next few weeks. If this is your first baby, you likely wont go into the labor until very close to 40 weeks or even later! My 1st child was 11 days overdue. :( By the 3rd, it was 2 weeks early. Don't be alarmed. Enjoy the last few days of the pregnancy. They are amazing!! Best of luck in the new year.

yea mild cramps and backpains could be labor :) pay attention to them. I went into labor with my first son at 32 weeks and i was having "mild" back pains. By the time i got to the hos, i couldnt get out of the car. Some babies are also born late and thats perfectly fine too.....goodluck :)

Dont be alarmed, due date is just an estimated time of arrival, you could have this kid 2 wks early or late. And sometimes when you do go into labor, it may hit you all at once instead of giving you signs.

no you dont have to be alarmed everything will happen when it is ready. Your due date is my bday! Best of luck and i hope everything works out and that you will have the baby sooner than later as i know you must be anxious.

you don't have to be alarmed but keep track on the mild cramps.
