I started drinking at 1:00 PM on Friday, 11:00 am on saturday, 6:30 PM on Sunday and 9:00 on Monday- I will not be drinking again until my liver stops hurting!!! Happy holidays? bah I hate the holidays right now! They were cool until 5:00 am this morning when I had to start getting ready for work and I realized that I am nursing 4 days of hangover!! Work sucks!

Honestly drinking should be saved for the dinner hour. A glass of red wine with a delicious meal warms the heart (and now research claims it saves the heart too!). Any other time... you simply have to be careful about the when, where, and how much. (for instance it's always a good idea to drink a shot of good irish whiskey just before heading over to the in-laws!).

Excellent question. The key to this answer is the context. Are you on vacation...then drinking at any time whatsoever is perfectly acceptable. Standard weekend...I follow the noon rule. Work day...the instant you leave the office (this includes lunch). Merry Drinking!

If you are worried about what time is socially acceptable to "start" drinking, you already have a problem. If you drink more than two drinks a day, you have a problem. If you get drunk on a regular basis, you already have a problem. If reading this makes you furious, you already have a problem.

There is no right or wrong time but in holiday times I would say if you must just after lunch at the peak of your day when you are more likely to be in better control of yourself.

If you haven't got to go to work or drive, any time you feel like it is good! Personally, I usually have some breakfast and usually start drinking about mid morning when I'm on holiday!

See ing as it,s a holiday ,i would say after mid/day. But if you have to go to work on wed/day, slow down again in the evening, unless you want to start work with a king of hangovers.

Entirely up to the individual. For a short period in my youth, I had to be on site at 8.00am and not being an early riser, breakfast was taken from a bottle of whisky while driving to work.

I only ever started drinking after 2pm (apart from the odd session in the morning)
But, I'm sort of an alcoholic, so I wouldn't trust my advice.
I'd say that socially, you shouldn't drink before 5pm.
