My eight month old used to drink 7oz four times a day.
Lately its been extremly difficult to maker her drink 5-6 oz 3 times.
She even does not seem to eat more solids just 2 small jars ( gerber veggies and fruits ) a day and some baby cereal once in the morning.
Is she being underfed and what more food can I introduce at this stage.
Thanks

They go through growth spurts. They also get bored with the bottle. Maybe you can spice it up with a sippy cup or a regular cup. They also stop growing as rapidly as they get older, so she may not need to eat quite so much. I'm sure she'll let you know when she is hungry. There are so many other things going on that are more exciting, she would probably rather be working on standing up or exploring new spaces. When things are first introduced like the bottle or solids, they are learning experiences and they are exciting. Babies lose interest especially when there is so many other developmental theings going on.

Your baby could be at the stage where the milk intake slows down and is slowly being replaced by more solids. Usually their weight gain slows down too around this time. The initial rapid growth spurt slackens. You could get your baby weighed to make sure there is still a little weight gain overall. Does your baby seemed happy and contented after a feed or a meal? Is your baby active and curious most of the day? Some babies are small eaters, while some babies just gulped their way through. Around 9 months of age, their major nutritional intake should be from solids, so you could try spinach (lots of iron) or baby yoghurt (calcium) and papaya (Vitamin C). Oranges are too citrus. Sweet potatoes and pumpkin or squash make great foods. You can also give minced beef or chicken. Stay off eggs, fish, seafood, nuts, tomatoes till later about 1 year old. Having said this, they still need formula for a complete mix of nutrients and protein so offer at least 500ml. Offer water too, but no more than 120ml lest they fill up on water.

Try mashed banana, peeled apple and potatoes, may be a bit of rice. But sometimes children go through this phase of not eating well. The diet will come back. Do not try to feed the child by force and only if she shows any signs of slackness in her activity or is irritable in general for more than two days, go and visit your child specialist. Is she passing stools well? May be indigestion can be a problem too, so look into that too.

Every baby is different, your baby may just be ready to cut back on the formula and start on milk. Don;t forget just how small your babies belly is, he/she may just be full with the foods they are eating.

If your child is underweight or not gaining weight than its important that you speak with the pediatrician. Let them know what she is eating and the Dr should be able to put you at ease about it.

Once my son starting eating solid foods he was so uninterested in bottles of formula or milk, he was gaining weight just fine.

Don;t stress and try not to compare your baby to other babies since they are all so very different!

Good Luck to you! :)

You can always try different foods. Fresh food mesh feeders are great and some babies love them. She may be teething and it hurts her to eat. If she's been very fussy, you might want to have her checked for an ear infection.

she might be allergic to the formula - i found this out the hard way. this is one for the doctor to figure out - especially if a food allergy is involved (not saying it is that at all -just a possibility). good luck!
