colourblindness is due to a recessive gene present on X chromosome in humans. in humans, males are XY and females are XX.
in order that the disease is found in women, the gene should be present on both the chromosomes. if it is present on a single chromosome or in no chromosome, it wont occur. but for a male, the occirence of the gene in the single x chromosome will cause the disease.
now a father passes only the X chromosome to his daughter.
so if the father is colorblind and the mother is not a colorblind but a carrier, that is she doesnt have the disease herself but has the gene in only one X chromosme, there is a 50 % chance the daughter will have colorblindness.

Colorblindness is a lot greater conventional in adult men . this is using the fact this is carried on the X chromosome. this is a recessive trait, yet on condition that adult men in basic terms have one X chromosome there's no longer a dominant allele to maintain them from no longer being colorblind. nonetheless, whilst it isn't in all possibility, this is accessible for colorblindness to bypass a era. this is greater complicated than in simple terms the unmarried gene.

I will try to do this how it was explained to me.... I dated a guy who was colorblind... If we would have had children it would have gone like this...(or so he told me) a daughter-No colorblindness passed on.... first born son- would be colorblind. Now, how true this is, I am not sure... but maybe it will help
