Give him time....all the time that he needs and then go from there. I would not force anything on him b/c he could really be going threw something that he does not want to share. I would tell her to do all that she could to help him with his issues but if he does not want help well just take a step back and wait and see. Only your friend Will know how long she wants to wait!!

I think he is trying to find a nice way to let you down. Take the clue. If he wants you, he would find a way to make it work. It's a classic response when people don't want to hurt someone who cares about them.

it means that he likes her but is emotionally unavailable for a relationship at this time. he just wants to be friends for now until he can sort through his stuff. it may take a while but the best thing to do is to just be there for him.
