Absolutely normal. With age, this may change we learn the most basic and important things in life from our parents. The raise us and provide for us from the very beginning. That inevitably builds a certain bond. It becomes very difficult to go against parents, even when they are wrong. In most cases, I believe this is right, especially for younger children. If the parents are truly wrong, then this may diminish as they get older. But hopefully not too soon. I believe that in most cases, children should go along with their parents until they finish high school unless their parents are doing something truly destructive, dangerous, immoral, or illegal.

I'd say it is pretty 'normal' to do this! It really depends on the situation, though. If the decision is going to be destructive in some way then the children should not go along with it. A lot of these decisions, though, would not fit into this category. An example: a few years ago my parents wanted to get a certain kind of ceramic tile in their kitchen. I had this type of tile and it showed every single drop of water that got on it, so I advised them not to get this tile. They got it anyway, even though they have 3 dogs and live in a climate that has lots of inclement weather. Did I care? No. This did not affect me. A few months later they had the tile removed because they discovered that it was impossible to keep clean. Did I gloat? No. They are adults and have the right to make these decisions for themselves.

it denpends of what age of the child. think about how people can become racist. it was taught during the growing up years. no one borned to hate others just on the base of colors, ethnics, or religions. yes, the opinions of the parents will be seeded in the child mind. and carries on until adulthood. since the parents are the people who the child look up to and to guide. it's sad story if the parents didn't mold the child right.

It's tough. Children are dependent on their parents and feel pressured to go along. If they have the courage, it is best to go against them.

Yes, perfectly. However, this hardly ever happens. Most children now-a-days tend to think that THEY have all the answers and know more than those who raised them. I think the correct classification is "spoiled brat".
