when they ask me some question like "what did you did before you come?", is it alright for me to joke like "oh, I prank called my friends, telling him that I am the police officer blah blah blah..."

just to show the humorous part of me, but not sure if they accepts it.

Your idea is a very poor one.

Interviewers do not want to see the humorous side of you. They are judging whether you are suited to study at their university.

Present yourself in your best light. Show respect to your interviewers by taking their questions seriously.

i don't believe you got an interview at MIT
or maybe u did, all geeks are that perky...
don't joke like that man coz u r not funny, it's not a smart joke, just stick with what you know best, math, physics and whatever u r good at
