No, I wouldn't call the cops. I started smoking when I was 7 or 8. The cops probably wouldn't do anything but talk to the kid anyway, which is something the kids parents should already be doing. Most kids are going to try smoking at some point in their life, and hopefully they hate it enough not to continue it.

I wouldnt call the cops if i saw a minor smoking because with this day and age its like second nature. We have more and more young minors (14-17) giving birth already, so for something as common as seeing a minor smoking, id have to say no

it depends on what age minor you are speaking of,,,,,,, 12 or under,,,, yes, i would feel to take action,,,, not necessarily calling the police, but trying to contact their parents, or talk with them,,,,,,, but that would be odd, as most very young ones hide their smoking,,,,,,, if you mean those up near the age to be legal to smoke, then no, i wouldnt do anything,,, as i think the legal ages, while perhaps benefiting society in general and individuals, are all a relative thing,,,,,, whether they smoke at 13 or 16,,,, is not in the long run going to make a difference,, if you are going to let any teens smoke, why not let them all,,,,,,, the same with drinking,,,,, i think it should be 18,,,,, as that is considered an adult for most purposes,,,,, if adults drink, let them all,,,,,,,,, either give a group (age) full rights or limit the whole group,,,,

No I wouldn't. I smoked when I was a minor and that was wrong but the cops wouldn't do anything anyway probably.

No smoking is awesome, why would you call the cops? its there choice... THERE FREEDOM, to do that if they would like, why doenst anyone get that? If I called the cops for a minor being fat.. would that be wrong? or could the poor little helpless fat bas.tard help it?! it was his/her choice right? they didnt HAVE to over eat... Just like a kid doesnt HAVE to pick up a cigarette... Smoking laws are stupid, what are we going to make the women were Vails next to cover there face? and make everyone worship Jesus? Sh.it man im about ready to move to Israel

My philosophy would be to always deal with the person involved first, then only then would I consider alerting the next level of authority - in this case, the parents of the minor. I doubt it would get to the stage of alerting the cops - I reckon they have more urgent/important crimes to deal with.

I wouldn't call the cops, I mean what are they going to do about it really? It's up to the parent to make sure their child knows not to do it.

Yeah...it may not be "that bad", but that kind of mentality is what leads teens to do worse things. Smoking is the real "gateway". When you keep telling them..."Oh...it could be worse"...then they think , "Well...since this guard is passed...what else can i get away with?" Teens have rules for a reason...because they are too immature to handle the responsibilities of adults!!!
